Nelson's son Jeff purchased the business in 1996 and now handles the day-to-day operations, which includes managing as many as 18 people in the field, 2 office staff and a licensed architect. Jeff naturally grew up around the business. He started out working part-time in the summer of 1976 (at the age of 14) and he started at the bottom of the ladder. Jeff understands how everything is put together; he cherishes the fact that that he learned how to do everything and is proud to carry on the Martin Brothers' love of home building. Jeff is active in the Builders Association of Elkhart County and is part of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. Jeff obtained his Certified Graduate Builder (CGB®) and Certified Graduate Remodelor® (CGR™) designations in February 2006. He is now actively seeking the Graduate Master Builder (GMB®) designation. Virgil and Nelson are still involved in the company and their experience makes them an invaluable resource.

Martin Brothers relies on our experienced crews to uphold our company's reputation and keep customer's happy. We have highly qualified carpenters that have been with us for more than 15, 20 and 25 years. So dedicated are our carpenters to the building industry that two of our team members have obtained their CGB designations and will soon obtain their CGR™ designations. Experience counts when building a home, especially when you are building a home with many details. You want the structural aspects of the home to be right from the beginning. It's what we call the things between the floors and the walls, things that you can't go back and do differently later on. With an on-staff Architect Martin Brothers offers a full design-build service. Our licensed Architect, Phil Jenkins has eight-years experience and can help deal with the many design issues found in today's technologically advanced homes. We are of course happy to work with your Architect or Designer too.
