Klinger Lake Dream Home
Klinger Lake Dream Home

7,200 sq. ft. custom lake home. The vision for the home came from the homeowner's many years of traveling to coastal areas out east and in Michigan. One of the most unique features (and the owner's favorite room) of the home is the geometric, octagonal screened-in sun porch with French doors. A relaxed home, the owner said it's important to feel that way; "you're not wearing a dress and heels to the lake; you're in shorts".

French Country Retreat
French Country Retreat

The design for this new 5,527 sq. ft. custom home was influenced by traditional buildings seen in the French countryside, featuring stone masonry exterior and cottage-style detailing. Sustainability was a core design strategy for the building systems. The home was designed to set on the edge of the woods to buffer north and west winds, but overlooking a prairie grass meadow to the south. Features include passive solar design in the overall house layout including fenestration and main rooms on an east/west axis for good solar orientation, a geothermal closed loop heating system, low-flow plumbing fixtures, and three Rumford fireplaces. In this residence, modern technology pairs with traditional design to fulfill the client’s desire for a sustainable home.

Equestrian Dream Home
Equestrian Dream Home

A horse lover's dream home. You will readily note the equestrian details on the exterior of this beautiful, sprawling 5,500 sq. ft. ranch home. The client wanted a large central space so that if someone was in the kitchen and someone else near the fireplace, they were still together. They ended up with a roomy gathering space that encompasses the kitchen, formal and informal dining areas, and living area. Lowered ceilings over portions of the space, such as the formal dining area, keep it from feeling cavernous. Floor-to-ceiling columns between the sections also provide a sense of separation while allowing for visual integration. A coffer design on the high living-area ceiling also lends a sense of coziness.
